What is Hospice
Historically, hospice was
known as a resting place for travelers along a journey. Today, hospice
is widely recognized as a service offering palliative (comfort) care to
terminally ill individuals when curative treatment is no longer an
option. Palliative care focuses on providing comfort and pain
management, psychosocial, emotional and spiritual support. Hospice
commits to enhancing the quality of life for terminally ill patients and
their loved ones.
